Community Involvement

1. User group workshops

Strathcona Gardens has a number of valued groups that use the facility on a regular basis. These groups were invited to participate in facilitated workshops at key points during the project planning phase and design stages.

2. Community Advisory Group

A community advisory group was established in late 2016 as a forum to share information that was considered during the planning process. Members represented a broad cross-section of facility users and user groups (arena, pool and wellness users), and the two communities it serves (residents of Electoral Area D and the City of Campbell River).

3. Public Information Sessions

The public were invited to drop-in, view materials and speak with the project team and project consultants at key points in the project planning phase.
