1. User group workshops
Strathcona Gardens has a number of valued groups that use the facility on a regular basis. These groups will be invited to participate in facilitated workshops at key points during the project planning phase.
2. Community Advisory Group
A community advisory group was established in late 2016 as a forum to share information that will be considered during the planning process. Members represent a broad cross-section of facility users and user groups (arena, pool and wellness users), the two communities it serves (residents of Electoral Area D and the City of Campbell River), and includes members of SRD staff on the project team.
3. Public Information Sessions
The public will be invited to drop-in, have a coffee, view materials and speak with the project team and project consultants at key points in the project planning phase.
4. Project Newsletter
Sign up to receive project updates and news via email or mail. Email email@example.com to get on the list and watch for the first update in early 2017.
Additional opportunities, such as feedback forms, online consultation and open houses will be organized as the next stage of the project gets underway. Watch here for updates.
Engagement to Date:
- Household Survey – Needs Assessment (Complete 2015)
- Public Open House – Needs Assessment (Complete 2015)
These outreach opportunities formed the feedback component of the Facility Needs Assessment study completed in 2015. Feedback helped guide decisions around the next steps for the project.
